a recent survey issued by the Centre for Social Research at the University of Georgia
that Islam the fastest growing religion in the United States today.
The
number of mosques in America,
according to the survey, more than 1209 mosques built more than half over the
past twenty years, the proportion of those who converted to Islam between 17 and
30 per cent.
Dr.
Omar Khalidi, chief scientist of research in the "Aga Khan" of
Islamic architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge
that "First, there are mosques that embody a traditional design
transferred from an Islamic country and one or more, and secondly mosques
represent a reinterpretation of the traditions inherited and that integrate
sometimes insisted on the architecture in the United States, and thirdly
innovative designs in full to those adopted in building the main center of the Islamic
Society of North America in the city Blainfeld, Indiana.
